Loneliness. Aloneness.

I have found no cure for loneliness than to embrace it.

To befriend it. To sit with it. Feel it. Learn it.

Every vibration and every ache.

I have tried to drink it away. To smoke it away.

I have danced for days, feigning felicity to bore it away.

Laughed to pointless humors to wear it off.

Sat through unhelpful sessions to talk it off.

Sang and cursed but there’s no cure for loneliness than to be alone with it.

Alone with it even while you’re surrounded, crowded, and grounded.

It comes from within only you can talk to it, think to it, laugh to it.

Would you believe me if I say it wants to be seen, heard and felt. Misery wants company that is why the weight of it…

_is capable of stealing the sound of thunder that one would walk right through a storm with no knowledge.

_Can let the rain drop without making a sound and you’d stare blankly as time whisks away.

_Can make your favorite food suddenly turn sour and cold.

Amazed how you can be alone and never feel lonely, yet you are in the midst of people and you are the loneliest you’ve ever been? …

But it’s no news we never get too much of what we ask for. And we never get to finish what we start. We leave or we get left.

Makes you wonder if trying to fight it is ever going to be worth it. We’ve been taught to be complacent so why are we even trying to fight with it. It does have a mind of its own!

Maybe it’s only telling us something?

Maybe we should listen more.

Maybe we’d learn that loneliness doesn’t actually mean you’re lonely.

It’s means you are fully in charge of your emotions. So, the times you forget to be who you are, all the times you’d leave your element at the detriment of others, the days you decide to let other people’s happiness come before your own. It comes to remind you that you are out of place, that you are not supposed to be likable but accepted, that you are not supposed to be kind alone to others but to yourself as well. So you can choose to leave that side of you that isn’t real even if it means you’d end up alone. Just listen!
